Zebra cake recipe
1 cup flour
2 tbsp oil
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 vanilla essence
2 tbsp cocoa
5 tbsp of water
Walnut kernel for decoration.
Step 1: Separate the egg whites from the yolks.
Step 2: Beat the egg whites and add a pinch of salt.
Step 3: Gradually add sugar to the egg white foam, until you get a strong, glossy meringue.
Step 4: Add oil and beat the yolks until you get a homogeneous cream.
Step 5: Gradually add the yolks to the meringue, stirring gently, from bottom to top, to keep the dough aerated.
Step 6: Add the vanilla essence and mix.
Step 7: Mix the flour with the baking powder and add the contents to the dough, incorporating in circular motions.
Step 8: Divide the dough into 2 equal parts.
Step 9: Mix cocoa with water until you get a cream.
Step 10: Put the cocoa mixture in one part of the dough and mix (keeping the circular movements).
Step 11: In a baking tray lined with baking paper, start placing the composition, alternating 2 tablespoons of white composition with 2 tablespoons of cocoa composition.
Step 12: Place the walnut kernel (if you want it) on the cake.
Step 13: Bake it at 360°F for 30-40 min
